Depending on a technical condition of necks of a cranked shaft replacement of loose leaves can be made both without engine dismantle, and after removal of the engine from the car. If the Engine is removed from the car, replacement of loose leaves should be made according to the instructions provided below and taking into account features of concrete type of the engine. Before replacement it is necessary to check a condition of radical bearings. On removed from the car and the overturned engine the cranked shaft lies on the top support. To measure gaps in radical bearings between the bottom support and shaft necks. If gaps are defined on the engine without its dismantle from the car, it is necessary to raise a cranked shaft up to choose gaps between shaft and the top radical support, and to measure gaps between necks and the bottom loose leaves.

Replacement of loose leaves with dismantle of a cranked shaft

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To dismantle covers of radical bearings with loose leaves. To take out loose leaves.
2. To dismantle a cranked shaft. To check a condition of necks of a shaft.
3. To take out loose leaves from radical support of the block of cylinders.
4. To grease bearing surfaces of new loose leaves of the necessary size and to establish in a bed of radical support of the block and in covers of bearings.
5. To establish a cranked shaft, to fix covers of radical bearings.

Replacement of loose leaves without dismantle of a cranked shaft

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To remove the oil pallet, the oil pump, to unscrew spark plugs. To dismantle a cover of the radical bearing needing replacement of loose leaves. To take out the loose leaf from a cover.
2. To establish the assembly adaptation for loose leaves in an opening of the oil channel of a neck of a cranked shaft. If the adaptation is absent, to use шплинт, having bent it in a place.
3. To turn a cranked shaft clockwise, if to look in front of the engine. Thus the loose leaf being in a bed of a radical support, will turn together with shaft and will come to light.
4. To grease the new loose leaf and to insert it the smooth party (without the lock) between a neck of a shaft and a radical support of the block from a deepening arrangement under the loose leaf lock. To turn the loose leaf on a place and to take out the assembly adaptation from the oil channel in a neck.
5. To grease the new loose leaf and to establish it in a cover of the radical bearing.
6. To establish a bearing cover. The arrow on a cover should be directed to a forward part of the engine.
7. To tighten bolts of covers of radical bearings the moment of 50 Nanometers + (40–60 °).

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Surfaces of a friction of bearings on existence:
      – wear;
      – flutes;
      – the introduced alien particles. If there are similar defects, to establish a type of these particles and them происхожде to scientific research institute. To examine a sediment and a deposit in the oil pallet.
2. External surfaces of bearings on existence:
      – wear. Wear tracks to the certificate ют or about loose leaf movings, or about existence of considerable roughnesses on interfaced details.
      – overheat traces;
      – traces of weakening of landing and a provorachivaniye (the deformed ledge of the lock, ring flutes).
3. Persistent surfaces (the average radical bearing) on existence:
      – wear;
      – ring flutes. Flutes are developed because of roughnesses of persistent end faces of a cranked shaft.
Prevention

At detection of defects of loose leaves, except normal эксплуата tsionny wear, it is required to examine interfaced details attentively: cranked shaft, radical support, bearing cover, rod.


4. Bolts of fastening of covers of bearings. If bolts are stretched, it is necessary to replace them.

To measure


In order that it is correct to define the size of loose leaves, it is necessary to measure gaps in bearings carefully. It is possible to use any of described below ways of measurement. However the way A is more preferable, as provides more reliable results.
Prevention

In a method A of measurement are used for settlement definition of a gap. The method B assumes direct measurement of a gap. Besides, the method B differs that does not allow to define bearing palpation.

Installation of loose leaves of the various nominal size in one radical bearing is not allowed.


METHOD A

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To measure by means of a micrometer diameter of a radical neck of a shaft. Measurements to make in several places on length of a neck in sections, otstoyashchy from each other on 90 degrees. Осреднить results of measurements.
2. To measure a konusnost and ovality.
3. To measure internal diameter of loose leaves by means of a micrometer. At replacement of loose leaves of measurement to make with new loose leaves.
Prevention

At measurements bolts of covers of bearings should be tightened by the nominal moment.

If the sizes of necks and a deviation from a form are in admissible limits, it is necessary to pick up a set of loose leaves of the suitable size. In case of inadmissible wear of necks it is necessary прошлифовать necks of a cranked shaft for the repair size and to establish a set of loose leaves of the reduced size.



METHOD B

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To establish loose leaves in support of the block of cylinders and a cranked shaft.
2. To impose the measuring plastic loose leaf on all length of the radical bearing.
3. To plant a bearing cover into place, carefully tapping on a cover from above.
Prevention

In order to avoid damages of the block of cylinders and/or covers of radical bearings it is necessary to use a hammer with brass or lead brisk or a kiyanka with a leather nozzle. It is forbidden to put a cover into place a tightening of fixing bolts. The neglect these instructions can lead to damage of the block of cylinders or covers of bearings.


4. To tighten bolts the nominal moment.
Prevention

Not to turn a cranked shaft.


5. To uncover the bearing, having left the plastic loose leaf on a place.
6. To measure the maximum width of the deformed plastic loose leaf by means of a scale put on packing of loose leaves, see fig. Measurement of a gap of the radical bearing.
7. To remove completely plastic loose leaf.
8. To pick up a set of loose leaves which will provide demanded gaps in the bearing.

Prevention

Loose leaves of radical bearings should not have scratches, рисок from a file and should устанавли ваться in a bed without additional laying. 1. To lower bolts of covers in engine oil.
2. To insert loose leaves of bearings into radical support of the block and a cover.
Prevention

The top and bottom loose leaves can differ. It is necessary to check coincidence of openings of oil channels. It is forbidden to block any oil channels.

Loose leaves come out a little, when are established in the nests. To check, that loose leaves acted equally on both parties. To be convinced of the correct position of locks of loose leaves.


3. At installation of the persistent radical bearing to grease persistent surfaces.
4. To grease surfaces of a friction of bearings with pure engine oil.
5. Cranked shaft.
Prevention

It is necessary to be careful of injuries of necks of a cranked shaft. It is recommended to use protective caps for bolts of heads of rods or directing fingers.


6. Covers of bearings. Carefully to plant covers on the places, slightly tapping on them with the suitable tool.
Prevention

In order to avoid damages of the block of cylinders and/or covers of radical bearings it is necessary to use a hammer with brass or lead brisk or a kiyanka with a leather nozzle. It is forbidden to put a cover into place a tightening of fixing bolts. The neglect these instructions can lead to damage of the block of cylinders or covers of bearings.


7. To screw in bolts of covers of bearings. Evenly to tighten bolts, then to turn on on one turn and to tighten the demanded moment.
8. To establish the persistent radical bearing, see fig. Installation of persistent bearings of a cranked shaft. To shift a shaft serially in both parties, to level persistent fillets of a shaft relatively the average radical bearing.
