5.4.24. Catalytic converter

GENERAL INFORMATION


Prevention

When using the lift it is necessary to watch, that basic paws of the lift did not concern some catalytic converter as it can lead to its damage. Purpose of the catalytic converter which has been built in final system, consists in reduction of emissions of harmful substances with the fulfilled gases in the atmosphere. Converter of oxidizing action contains the carrier on which the catalyst layer from precious metals (platinum, a palladium is put). Converter provides decrease in emissions with the fulfilled gases of SN hydrocarbons and WITH carbon oxide. Three-componental converter has the platinorodiyevy catalyst and in addition clears fulfilled gases of NO nitrogen oxides.

In the presence of catalytic converter it is forbidden to maintain the car on etilirovanny gasoline. It will lead to a fast exit of converter out of operation.
