19.8.2. Insufficient cooling of air – the operative test
GENERAL INFORMATION

The simplified test described below allows to establish quickly an insufficient charge of system of CB coolant R-12 (air temperature exceeds 21 ° C). The test takes some minutes and can simplify considerably troubleshooting of KB system or reduce labor input of detailed testing of system.

1) The engine should be heated-up and idle.

2) To open a cowl and Body doors.

3) To turn on the button of KB system and to switch off the button of a retsirkulyatsiya of air.

4) To establish an air temperature regulator on the minimum temperature.

5) To include the maximum speed of rotation of the fan.

6) At the switched-on compressor to define to the touch temperature of the entrance pipeline of the evaporator (behind a throttle branch pipe) and a receiver. At serviceable system of cooling of air the entrance branch pipe of the evaporator and a surface of a receiver should have identical temperature which on some degrees is lower than air temperature. To check existence of other malfunctions.

To check existence of leakages of a coolant. At detection of leaks to discharge KB system and to make necessary repair. Then again to charge KB systems a coolant.

If leaks it is not revealed, to carry out detailed check of Quarter system.
